Digital printing on glass containers

Owens-Illinois presents O-I: EXPRESSIONS, an innovative digital printing technique developed specifically for glass, offering unprecedented opportunities to enhance the brand image as well as the premium positioning of products.

Result of years of R&D, the solution exploits a direct contactless printing technology with UV inks, which ensure rapid polymerisation and do not compromise the recyclability of glass.
Thanks to the advantages guaranteed by digital, glass packaging can be decorated with flexible volumes and production times, at affordable prices, in an unprecedented range of colors and graphics (the entire Pantone color spectrum can in fact be exploited).
It is therefore a tool to respond promptly to the demand for customized products, ideal also in the case of small lots created to support short campaigns, seasonal promotions, limited editions at important events etc ...

O-I: EXPRESSIONS will also be available in the “RELIEF” version, which enables the reproduction of tactile effects such as color embossing, giving the packaging an exclusive look, ideal for the high range.
The solution will be distributed on the European market by mid-2019 (and a little later in the US) but the company is ready to start projects and discuss collaborations with regular or potential customers.
