Italian capsules in Napa Valley
Guala Closures Group has opened its first wine closure production facility in the United States in Fairfield, in the heart of the Californian wine country.
In order to serve the local market, made up of many small scale producers, the concern has also set up its Design Studio, a center dedicated to the creation of aesthetically innovative closure systems that will be able to manage orders of up to 1,000 pieces thanks to a cutting edge installation.
Built by the Group’s own engineers, it combines digital printing technology with plasma surface treatments, special varnishes, a dedicated UV polymerization system, automated quality control and a relief decoration system for the tops. Until now, Guala had served the American wine market with its production facility in Mexico, which executes minimum orders of 100,000 units (an excessive threshold for the countless small wine producers of Napa Valley).
