Paper made from stone
Paper of the latest generation, 100% “tree free”: called Repap (brand owned by the Group Cartorama, distributed exclusively in Italy by Paper&People), it is composed exclusively of inert material, or that is a mixture of stone dust (calcium carbonate) and non-toxic resins (high density polyethylene) which act as a binder.
It has been created thanks to a production process with low environmental impact, which does not use water or chemical compound bleaches, with very low emissions of carbon dioxide and reduced energy consumption.
But besides being “environmentally friendly”, Repap offers high-level performance: beautiful and soft to the touch, it does not cut and is resistant to wear and tear. Moreover, thanks to its unique composition, in printing processes it ensures very fast drying times with a reduced ink load. Another innovative feature is its total impermeability: Repap resists all weather conditions, so that products built using it last longer and can be used outdoors.
If released into the environment, Repap is photodegradable during a period of 14-18 months. It is also 100% recyclable and recoverable to be used to produce more Repap paper or plastic materials, materials for the construction industry and metallurgical industry, for agriculture and for the manufacture of glass. It is recommended for most printing techniques to produce catalogs, manuals, brochures, clothing tags, bags, maps and charts, etc.
