What it is. Packaging for spices and dry foods consisting of a pair of mini stackable rPET bottles, contained in a secondary packaging of recycled cardboard.

Materials. rPET and 100% recycled cardboard.

Product or target market. Packaging suitable for all types of dry food (cereals, rice, legumes, sweets, dried fruit, etc...), designed for all distribution channels, including large-scale retail trade.

Design and/or communication. The stackable bottles DUO, extremely small and light (only 7.6 g), feature a unique, stackable and space-saving design. All the elements of the packaging are label-free: the graphic communication is printed directly on the cardboard of the secondary packaging, assembled without the use of glue or adhesives.

Technology. Containers are produced by blowing preforms generated with Sipa's exclusive Xtreme Renew technology, which allows preforms to be produced directly from PET flakes, thus avoiding all the steps involved in the production of rPET granules, with a consequent reduction in energy, logistic and industrial consumption and costs. In order to guarantee full compliance with food contact, before extrusion, the PET flakes undergo washing/decontamination using the Vacurema system by Erema, a leading Austrian company in recycling systems.

Sustainability. The packaging is made following the principles of eco-design and circular economy, starting from the choice of materials, 100% recycled and recyclable. The space-saving, labelfree and adhesive-free design represents a further plus in terms of sustainability and optimization of resources. In addition, the ultralight bottles are produced with a significant saving of raw materials, and a weight reduction of about 10%. Compared to the use of virgin resin, the use of recycled PET allows a reduction in CO2 emissions of 80%.
