A truly special 2015 Packaging Oscar
November 30th, 2014 is the deadline for presenting nominee applications for the Packaging Oscar 2015, year of the Expo. The next edition of the competition will focus on technical and technological innovation. The awards will be distributed at Ipack-Ima.
The next Packaging Oscars, organized by Istituto Italiano Imballaggio in collaboration with Ipack-Ima 2015, will be held in a particularly good year in terms of visibility and promotion. In fact, the Istituto has decided to carry on the initiative first launched in 2014, a show featuring nominee products during the Milanese Design Week (April 2015). Moreover, the nomination and award ceremonies will be held at Ipack-Ima, Italy’s premiere packaging fair, which will take place in mid-May alongside Expo2015. The theme of innovation in food&beverage will thus be particularly pertinent considering that this Expo is entitled “feed the planet”.
The contest. The main goal of the event is to promote packaging solutions and systems (even ones produced abroad) that innovate or enhance ones already on the Italian market and in their sector of use. Packaging solutions designed or produced in Italy for foreign markets are also eligible. Only creations that have been marketed for no longer than 2 years or prototypes in advanced stages of development may be presented. The contest will no longer classify nominations according to pre-set product categories. The Oscars will be assigned to a maximum of 6 products, as well as special prizes: Best Overall (jury selection), the Environment Oscar (sponsored by Conai) and Quality Design, sponsored by the Politecnico di Milano’s School of Design. The winners will have the chance to compete in the World Packaging Organization’s Worldstar Awards.
