Full presence at the coming K October 16th to 23rd 2013, Düsseldorf (D)

K for Kunststoff as well as Kautschuk, German for caoutchouc or natural rubber: "The" plastics and rubber triennial show will be back in Düsseldorf in October with all exhibition space (all 19 halls of the German city’s exhibition centre) sold out since June 2012 due to a growing demand.

Some 3,000 exhibitors from 60 countries will be attending, representing the fields of raw materials, semi-finished products as well as processing machinery and equipment for the two categories of materials; completeness of the offer, along the entire supply chain of manufacturing, has always been the principal strongpoint of K.
The 2013 edition of the fair also registers a particularly high participation of companies from Germany, Italy (with over 26,000 sqm of floorspace, as in 2010), Austria, Switzerland and the USA. Also growing, to an even more sizeable extent than in the past, the space occupied by Asian manufacturers (around +30%), mainly from China, Taiwan and India. Lastly - the organizers emphasized - Turkey's participation has "ballooned", covering a full 4,000 sqm, 1,000 sqm up on three years ago, and one is seeing the return of the U.S. producers, covering around 5,300 sqm net of floorspace. With a trend indication: if the growth in the eastern segment of the world raises no surprise, in North America a less obvious contrast to reshoring, notably the "return" of previously delocated production, is becoming evident. The reason, experts say, is that in China wages are rising between 15 and 18% per year, tax incentives are running out, energy costs are high and transport costs are increasing, significantly eroding profit margins
