Accademia del Profumo: the winners
The consumers’ jury of the Accademia del Profumo awards, in a record edition that drew over 67 thousand votes, elected Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet and Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum “perfume of the year”, while the technical jury voted Panthère Cartier and Valentino Uomo as the best womens’ and mens’ perfumes.
The winners were announced on 30 April in the charming location in Milan Magna Pars Suites by Luciano Bertinelli, President of Accademia del Profumo, and Filippa Lagerbach, TV presenter and host of the evening. Together they “crowned” the kings of alcohol based perfumes in the six categories of this 26th edition of the award.
The jury of experts awarded the title of best womens’ and mens’ olfactory creation to Knot Bottega Veneta and Bulgari Man in Black, that also won the prize for best Italian mens’ fragrance along with Acqua di Parma Rosa Nobile in the womens’ category. Armani Privé Pivoine Suzhou in turn won the title of best womens’ niche fragrance, the award for the best mens’ niche fragrance going to Acqua di Parma Colonia Leather, while the communications award, assigned by the VIP jury presided over by Filippa Lagerbach, went to Chanel N° 5 and Valentino Uomo.
For the first time too this year the central role of the “nose” was acknowledged with the special prize going to Nathalie Lorson: Ms. Lorson is a member of the team that created Firmenich Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent, overall Italy’s bestselling scent for the year 2014.
