Anna Paola Cavanna reconfirmed as President of the Italian Packaging Institute

Confirmations, new appointments, results achieved and future objectives by the assembly of members of the Italian Packaging Institute, which was held last September 29 in webinar mode.

Anna-Paola-Cavanna_Assemblea2020_web.jpgMilan, 1st October 2020. Satisfaction for Anna Paola Cavanna (Sole Director of the Piacenza-based company Laminati Cavanna SpA, see photo), reconfirmed for the second two years at the head of the Italian Packaging Institute.
The shareholders' meeting also renewed the Board of Directors and the Vice Presidents: reconfirmed in the role of Ciro Sinagra (Laminazione Sottile), who will be joined by the "new entry" Alessandra Fazio, Head of Quality of Nestlè Italiana SpA.

During the Assembly, the results achieved under the Cavanna chairmanship were illustrated, first of all the greater number of members than in the past and a renewed image, which is reflected in the website completely redesigned to be more usable and in the numerous initiatives put in place.

In particular, with regard to the projects strongly desired by the President, the emphasis is on activities related to ethics and sustainability.
Established in 2019, the "sustainability commission" has, for example, had the task of creating a wide-ranging project in the packaging field, with a transversal approach capable of going beyond the mere logic of materials.

The path undertaken has also been consolidated through an accreditation plan of the Italian Packaging Institute with stakeholders involved in various ways in environmental management (public bodies such as the Ministry of Environment, Aeneas, Waste Management, etc..), so as to establish synergies useful to the market and the membership base.

In May 2020 the “Ethical Packaging Charter Foundation" was born, ready to operate on several fronts and with a first high-profile project in the educational-cultural field; in fact, in 2021 the first advanced training course dedicated to packaging will start, in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics of the University La Sapienza, Rome.

For the future, Anna Paola Cavanna aims to consolidate the path undertaken, strengthening relations with the Board of Directors and trade associations, universities and research centers, pushing the accelerator of sustainability and communication of packaging values.
