Giflex celebrates 40 years

2025 is a special year for Giflex, the Flexible Packaging Group, as it’s celebrating 40 years of activity. It’s an important milestone that’s symbolised in a celebratory logo, a renewed corporate image and a rich and varied programme of events.

Image and substance

As Alberto Palaveri, President of Giflex declares, «We’ve created a logo that recounts who we are and guides towards what we want to become, with a payoff that represents us as a sector and as an association: #UnitiPerDareFormaAlFuturo» (United To Give Shape to the Future).

The dark and light blue of Giflex’s institutional logo combine with yellow, orange and green, passing through all the possible nuances, as many as the forms of flexible packaging. And then, the number “40” takes shape: a ribbon folds and unfolds, giving form to the figures with lightness and dynamism, symbolizing movement and continuous renewal. A union of intent, therefore, which expresses the strength of the Flexible Packaging Group, ready to face the challenges of today and to construct, together, a more sustainable and innovative tomorrow.

What is more, - Palaveri continues – we are already working on making this 2025 really special, thanks to the programme of events, in-depth meetings and training, but also opportunities for healthy fun. We will be celebrating our anniversary, in fact, during Ipack-Ima 2025, and more precisely, 29 May at the Auditorium of the Stella Polare conference centre, in the heart of the Milan Trade Fair District.

The events

As well as the traditional association conferences in spring and autumn and the celebratory events, Giflex’s 2025 is enriched with the unmissable scientific event, API, Advances in The Packaging Industry. Distinguished international experts are expected, who will present innovations and solutions for the future of packaging regarding the theme of “Sustainability: Products and Processes”.

In brief, here are the most important dates to note in your diaries:

  • 27-28 March: International Congress API - Advances in The Packaging Industry, Fondazione Cariplo, Milan
  • 4 April: Giflex’s Spring Conference, at Hotel Melià, Milan
  • 29 May: 40th anniversary of Giflex, coinciding with Ipack Ima 2025, at Rho-Fiera Milan
  • 6-7 November: Giflex’s Autumn Conference, at Hotel Villa Pamphili, Rome

2025 outlook

But what sort of year will it be for the flexible packaging industry? A great effort will certainly be required to manage the new developments in Italian and European political contexts but, most of all, to put into practice the European PPWR Regulation that has now become law.

About two or three years of intense work will, in fact, be necessary to write and apply the various implementing decrees, and only then will we be able to understand clearly which way to go. This period is essential and necessary for orienting the strategies and technical application choices of the flexible packaging industryPalaveri concludes.
