Hot stamping: Looking to the future with a nineteenth-century “taste”

Values of the past and innovation come together in the new packaging of F.lli Collivasone’s “offelle”. The traditional Pavia biscuit now has a vintage elegance, revamped thanks to the most advanced Kurz hot finishing technologies, such as LUMAFIN®, offered exclusively by Luxoro.

A company of excellence based in Parona Lomellina (PV), F.lli Collivasone has been carrying on a long family tradition in the art of baking since 1890. Born as a bakery, in time the company has specialized in the production of a typical local biscuit, the “offella”, which for over a century has brought prestige to the local gastronomic tradition.

Therefore, if F.lli Collivasone’s activity has its heart and roots firmly in its territory, the owners are convinced that this Italian delicacy has what it takes to be appreciated all over the world.

With the aim of extending its business, the company has therefore started a path of expansion on the national and international market, which includes a project of restyling of the pack, essential to relaunch the image of the product and successfully reach new targets.

To undertake the new course, F.lli Collivasone has involved, among others, Luxoro as exclusive distributor for Italy of Kurz Group products - a world player in finishing technologies - as well as a fellow citizen of Parona Lomellina: the ideal partner, therefore, to give a unique and distinctive look to the offelle.

Iridescent shades for a modern vintage look

Highlighting ornamentation as the fulcrum of an aesthetic language, in its purest function of ennobling the product, enhancing the identity link with tradition, but with a touch of modernity. This is the stylistic feature of the new packaging for the offelle, created by Vimer Srl; to clad the famous Pavia biscuit, a refined modern vintage design was chosen, based on a contemporary reinterpretation of a time-honored design, using innovative processes and materials.  To embellish the packaging, Luxoro proposed the latest Kurz hot finishing technologies, including, in particular, foils from the LUMAFIN® line. The updating of the historical graphic roots goes by way of the most modern techniques and materials, hot foil stamping and special techniques, in a pattern of light and dark that allows you to play with the iridescent tone-on-tone transparencies of LUMAFIN®.

The sweetness of tradition, in an iconic design

Created by the designers of 63 DE-SIGN, the concept of the packaging aims to enhance the aspects that characterize the identity of the product, recalling its origins, its Italian character, and the graphic culture of the period in which it was born, at the dawn of our industrial history.  On the basis of these ideas, a design has been created that revolves around the stylized and immediately recognizable shape of the biscuit, used as a distinctive graphic sign and geometric module to build up the weft of lacework and decorations; starting from the same shape, an ad hoc font has also been developed for the brand name.

Hot stamping, a trait d’union between past values and innovation

On the pack there are plays of light, hot stamping textures and dry reliefs that characterize all the decorations.

To give an elegant antique touch and express the value of the product, a warm shade of LUMAFIN® Bronze was chosen, whose transparency allows a glimpse of the underlying design.

The chromatic palette has been lightened with LUMAFIN® Green, which restores light and three-dimensionality to the design and makes the look brighter and more cheerful, softening the seriousness of the style.

Finally, we find two metallized effects of the new Luxoro Extra!ordinari collection,  that is Dark Blur e il Pebble Beige, used to emphasize the vintage side of the packaging.
