Simei: confirmations and new objectives
Overriding success at the 26th edition of SIMEI, the biennial winemaking and bottling machine show.
On the one hand the quality of the technological solutions and the possibility of exchanges among the world stakeholders on themes crucial to the sector (sustainabililty and sensorial analyses first and foremost), on the other the renewed layout and the concurrent holding of numerous events proposed by the Unione Italiana Vini (organizer of SIMEI since the first editions in 1963) vouched for the success of the event.
From 3 to 6 November, some 31,000 professional operators from 90 countries and over 600 high profile exhibiting companies met up at Simei, emphasizing the international top ranking of Italian production in the field, given that over 70% of winemaking technology used in cellars the world over is Italian.
Platform of technological promotion, the fair is hence recognized by the sector as a fundamental engagement for professional updates and international relations.
Francesco Pavanello(general director of the Unione Italiana Vini) remarked that «UIV is committed to enhancing the exhibitive offer with an organized and coordinated system that enables the extension of contacts, which we have given the name of Winepro.
Visitors, exhibitors, over 150 speakers and 250 journalists from national and international trade newspapers and publications in fact animated what can be defined as a cross-medial fair, that thanks to the new modes of communication has been able to amplify the diffusion of contents, both those of the exhibitors and the 2 international conventions as well as the over 50 events: from the diffusion in streaming of the conferences to the innovative digitalisation of the fair, that enabled users to download over 450,000 multimedial content items during the event».
The support given by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development to the show recognizes the value of an Italian industrial segment, considered to be strategic for the development of Italian winecraft in the global economy.
We reiterate here that, following the agreement signed with the Messe Munchen - the first of this scope on the international fair scene - after the Milanese exhibition SIMEI will debut in Munich at the coming world liquid food technology fair drinktec (September 11-15 2017): in the vestige of “Wine Focus”, and will stretch over some 20,000 sqm exclusively dedicated to the winemaking sector.
The 2019 edition of SIMEI will be held in Italy, to return to Munich in 2021.
