Beer: primary labeling and more
Altech labeling solutions offer functionalities adapted to meet a diverse array of application requirements.
One such example is a system based on the ALline C linear labeler (figure 1), equipped with two ALstep labeling heads (integrated with a SATO thermal transfer printer), which applies a primary label to the body (with lot and expiry date printing) and the neck, at a speed of around 3,000 bottles/hour.
Next, a rolling device which is also fitted with brushes adapts the labels onto the surface of the bottle, aligning them with one antoher. A counter-belt synchronized with the conveyor keeps the bottles stabilized in order to guarantee maximum application precision.
In another solution, Altech responded to more specialized requirements. For a major Northern European company, the concern supplied a machine (photo 2) that applies labels to beer bottles which require information additional to that on the primary label.
The machine was positioned directly onto an existing packaging line, fed by rotating tables. It consists in an ALline C linear system, equipped with a dual-belt product spacer and a three-roller product timing system. After spacing and orienting the bottles, it applies the additional labels in such a way as not to cover them, thanks to a high speed scanner that identifies their position by reading the barcode on the bottle and sending a signal to the Alritma label applicator head. The solid mechanism and optimised logic of the three-roller device enable reaching high performance (50 bottles/min), excellent reliability and precision positioning.
