Linear motors for large forces
Parker Hannifin (motion & control technologies) has introduced the R series ironcore linear motors for applications that require large forces and high dynamics, such as printers, medical equipment and machine tools.
They are available with forces of 40 N continuous and up to 7433 N peak.
The standard configuration is supplied as a kit (coil + magnet track) with patented anti-cogging technology that can be integrated with the user’s mechanics. Motion is generated without the use of transmission elements, such as ball bearings, dentellated belts or reduction gears, which generate energy losses and substantial installation costs.
Compared to others, the ironcore technology-based R-series offers an excellent force to size ratio.
Furthermore, laminations and large surface enable maximizing heat dissipation, maximizing performance.
The new series of linear motors is available in 4 sizes and 3 lengths and supplies large forces within a range of speed that reaches up to 7 m/s. The Hall digital sensors are incorporated in the connection modules, facilitating installation. An internal thermo switch protects the housing from overheating; the standard offer is also supplied with a 0.5 m ultra-flexible cable.
