Camozzi opens a new logistic centre

Camozzi Automation, a Camozzi Group member company specialising in industrial automation solutions, components and systems for liquid/gaseous fluid control and applications for the transport industry, recently opened a new logistic centre at Palazzolo sull’Oglio (BS), a highly efficient and sustainable strategic hub that receives products from the two factories located in Lumezzane and Polpenazze.

This €9 million investment will increase the production capacity of the group’s facilities and guarantee a wide-ranging, punctual and efficient supply service for customers.

The modern structure has a footprint of 5,000 square metres and is equipped with new-generation automatic systems capable of handling in a single shift the volumes managed by the previous warehouses over three shifts, resulting in an approximately 10 times higher final throughput than in the past.

camozzi-2.jpgOne of the key elements of the distribution centre is the innovative Multishuttle Cuby system from SSI Schaefer, the first installation of its kind in Italy.

This AI-controlled system adopts a separate shuttle for each shelf level to achieve a 3-4 times greater handling capacity than that of the individual SRM machine.

camozzi-3.jpgThe heart of the system is the WMS warehouse management software integrated with the company’s ERP software (SAP). By combining spatial optimisation with cutting-edge technology, the centre will enable Camozzi Automation to improve product availability with the goal of guaranteeing deliveries within 24 hours of receiving an order (a maximum of 48 hours in the case of the most distant European countries).
