JBS expands its US plant

Brazilian meat giant JBS is investing $20 million to expand the bacon operations of its Plumrose business in Ottumwa, USA.

Acquired in 2017 from Danish Crown for $230 million, the Plumrose plant produces more than 450 million kg of fresh pork and bacon products a year and employs around 2,000 people.

The expansion is expected to be completed by September 2019.
