Vino.com takes over startup Vino.it

The online sales platform specialising in wine and spirits Vino.com (formerly Vino75.com) has taken over the rival startup Vino.it with the aim of further extending its international digital presence. The platform has been operating in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands since 2020 and in China since 2017 through Alibaba’s Tmall Choice and Tmall Global marketplaces.

The acquisition marks a further step forward in the online wine store’s expansion project following last year’s surge in sales to €30 million compared to the €9.5 million of 2019 and deliveries of 3 million bottles in Italy, Europe and China.

In 2021 the platform aims to strengthen its partnerships with wine producers and help them promote their excellence abroad, for example through the initiative entitled “Al fianco delle cantine” (“Side by side with the wineries”). The service will expand the catalogue of more than 4,000 labels from over 1,000 wineries and is aimed at wine producers looking to sell their products online through Vino.com and on the main European markets.
