Packaging Première: responsible luxury

There were numerous innovative and sustainable products at the 2024 edition of Packaging Première & PCD Milan (21-23 May), full of previews and points of interest.

The event opened its doors to more than 8,300 visitors, who were able to discover the latest developments of over 320 exhibitors coming from Italy, China, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Bulgaria, Finland, Hungary and Holland.

One of the key words of this edition was definitely multisensoriality: visitors were welcomed, in fact, by illusions, optical effects, experimental music and original fragrances which created an engaging and impactful experience right from the start.

Avant Garde, the initiative with a high level of innovation involving exhibitors, design and branding agencies, producers of materials, suppliers of deluxe packaging and startups working in the design and development of innovative products, enjoyed great success. 25 projects were displayed, subdivided into 3 categories: innovative materials, sustainability and design.

The big names in the sector. There were numerous debates and conferences, 23 in all, with the participation of over 80 internationally well-known speakers, on themes ranging from multisensoriality and storytelling to the evolution of bio-based plastics, from originality and creativity to Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Imagination, from the cost of sustainability in luxury to the value of neuromarketing, and to design trends in South Korea.
