Product overview. In close collaboration with the end client and raw material supplier, Di Mauro has developed a paper-based packaging solution for LINDT GOLD BUNNY chocolates, completely free from plastic films.

Innovation. The IN-CARTA® Sealable Barrier Paper pack is fully recyclable and designed to facilitate sorting for recycling, optimising paper fibre recovery. Achieving barrier and heat-seal performance without plastic films reduces the use of non-renewable materials and simplifies the recycling chain. The choice of paper – a renewable, certified material – meets growing consumer expectations for sustainability, while ensuring a premium perceived quality. It keeps the sachet rigid on shelves, maintaining its shape and appearance without creases or abrasions.

Materials used. IN-CARTA® Sealable Barrier Paper is composed of carefully selected materials for both functional performance (barrier to water vapour, fats, and mineral oils) and sustainability (FSC Mix certified). List of materials (from outside to inside). Overprint varnish: protects the print and ensures gloss, maintaining visual quality throughout the sachet’s lifecycle.; inks: for high-quality rotogravure printing and excellent graphic reproduction; FSC Mix barrier paper – 105 g/m²: renewable material offering water vapour and fat barrier properties, while maintaining stiffness and a premium look; heat-seal lacquer: enables heat-sealability and airtight packaging without plastic films.

Technologies. Rotogravure printing combined with rotogravure application of the heat-seal lacquer.
