First unveiled at Ipack-Ima 2018, it is the latest technological innovation from U-Packaging, a pioneering start-up launched 3 years ago in Calderara di Reno, in the province of Bologna.

As well as thermoforming, the machine is able to perform blister packing (capsules, tablets, effervescent tablets) and is designed for the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, herbal medicine and cosmetics sectors.

next-4.0-panel_web.jpgThe innovative system is already patented by the company and offers numerous advantages. These include the benefits of Industry 4.0 technology thanks to latest-generation Siemens electronics installed by  Smart Motions Srl and allowing for remote connection and dialogue with all management software located upstream and downstream of the production line.

next-4.0-dettaglio_saldatura_web.jpgSpecial attention has been devoted to the delicate balance between mechanics, electronics and pneumatics, key to achieving the maximum reliability and simplicity of use. Next 4.0 is also highly eco-sustainable with an energy consumption of just 2.5 kW/h, one of the lowest on the market.

Further advantages include versatility (two different products can be produced with the same machine), almost non-existent size change costs and the possibility of performing test machine activities.

“To achieve these results we collected data and listened to the impressions and needs of more than 200 customers, after which we brought everything together in a single machine that incorporates three different production technologies,” explained Gerardo Tenza, U-Packaging’s sole administrator.
