Innovation, bridging present and future
1,229 exhibitors, 31 processing islands, 15 themed areas, 9 themed showrooms, 10 excellence plazas, 103 conferences and encounters organized by concerns, universities and research institutes. So concludes MECSPE 2015 (March 26-28, Fiere di Parma), the international innovation technologies fair organized by Senaf, “cashing in” on the confidence expressed by Italian concerns in recent months.
«The event’s growth reflects that of the mechanics and subcontracting sectors - comments Emilio Bianchi, director of Senaf - as is also shown by data gathered by MECSPE’s monitoring center, according to which more than 9 out of 10 concerns express satisfaction. This is a crucial segment for the recovery of manufacturing, which finds in MECSPE not only a exposition space, but also and especially one for live demos, given the numerous initiatives that offer operators a chance to see live the innovations they could introduce to their own production processes».
More efficiency and new scenarios The header refers first of all to the Fabbrica Digitale-Oltre l’automazione© (“digital factory beyond automation”) which, thanks to a connection with specially equipped demo modules, proves how (and how much) digital technologies enable integrating a factory’s various systems and subsystems, making processes more efficient in every way. But that’s not all. The innovations catwalk also featured futurist projects, including a prototype super lightweight electric trolley (max 20 kg) from the Polytechnic University of Turin, and the spectacular work of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna’s Biorobotics Institute (an hand exoskeleton for post-trauma recovery and an aid for natural walking) and the University of Padua (a humanoid capable of dancing and rising to its feet, and an autonomous robot developed for assisting the elderly, a la “Real humans”), but also, coming back to the world of B2B, the products and demos of the 3DPrint Hub showroom.
MECSPE also implemented a series of training and internationalization initiatives, two areas identified as key factors for growth.
The fair will be held again 17-19 March 2016 at the Fiere di Parma expo center.
