Cibus Tec stronger with Food Pack
With 1,000 exhibitors (against the 700 of 2011) and a good +15% of visitors (30thousand in all), Cibus Tec - Food Pack 2014 closes with a clearly positive balance and offers signs of hope: that of a reawakening of the Italian domestic market, prospected by the significant presence of Italian visitors, interested and with investment projects in their pockets.
The longstanding Parma based food processing and packaging fair, organized by Fiere di Parma in joint venture with Ucima, and with the cooperation of KoelnMesse and Assocarni, was held from 28 to 31 October last with a new concept.«We wanted to create a vertical, specialised fair – underlines Fabio Bettio, brand manager of Cibus Tec - that responds to the demands of the international community, and we have managed to do so».The integration of wrapping and packaging technology featured at Food pack, with the traditional product sectors of Cibus Tec (processing) - in turn head of Ucima Paolo Gambuli states - was decisive and has produced results above expectations: «Confirmation has come both from the international buyers as well as exhibitors, that have already expressed the intention to confirm the increase of their presence at the coming 2016 engagement.
The level of the companies present and a suitable and easy-to-reach trade fair quarters support the future of the show – Gambuli goes on to say – along with the quantity and the quality of the attendance this year (500 top buyers, many of whom from markets with a high growth potential)».
Contracts and contents. Rendezvous and concerted market place, Cibus Tec - Food Pack 2014 favored the clinching of a high number of commercial contracts with mature contexts like the US and western Europe was well as “emerging” economies such as Vietnam and Turkey. Hence the optimism of Giuseppe Lesce, Sacmi general Closures manager and President of Ucima, who declares: «We reckon we are entitled to state that Cibus Tec – Food Pack has already become an important Italian fair and one of the major world engagements for the industry worldwide».
The appeal of the show was heightened by a high profile conference program. Among the most important encounters, the workshop of the Warrant Group on European internationalization funds (80 billion euros made available for EU SMFs for the period 2014-2020); the Assocarni “Meat Day” under the auspices of the Carbon Footprint, inaugurated by the acting president Federalimentari Luigi Scordamaglia; the world congress on hygienization and safety in food facilities; the conference on the future of single serve (coffee pods and more) moderated by the Lavazza CTO Filippo Ferrari, where all sector technology leaders took part….
