The Russian dietary supplement market reached a value of €242.5 million in the first quarter of 2020, up 37.9% on the same period in 2019.
The upward trend is driven by strong demand for immune system-enhancing products, considered by Russians to be an important tool for preventing the virus.
In March, Russian pharmacies sold over 2,000 different brands of supplements from 816 manufacturers. Dietary supplement sales grew by 20.6% compared to February to over €91 million, equivalent to about 32 million packets.
