A universal adhesive for plastic bottles

Following the launch of a universal adhesive for beverage cans, KHS is now also offering the market Nature MultiPack, a cutting-edge solution with regards to adhesives developed for the packaging of PET bottles in bundles.

Safe, sustainable and with reduced consumption. KHS has further simplified a solution which is already low-consumption, able to weld beverage containers together with just a few gluing points without having to use any shrink film to stabilize the multipack. After presenting at the interpack trade show this year its new universal adhesive that can be used on all standard aluminium cans regardless of their coating or surface treatment, KHS returns to the market with an equivalent solution for PET bottles. Again, in this case, the adhesive can be used on almost all shapes, regardless of the dimensions and thickness of the material.

This flexibility is made possible by a special process: nitrogen is added to the adhesive on the KHS Innopack Kisters NMP packaging machine before application on the PET bottle, during which the gas - previously pressurized- expands and forms a foam in the adhesive, lending the glue greater elasticity. This last characteristic helps the consumer in separating the bottles.

Combined with the new “Bottle Clip” transport handle developed specially for the Nature MultiPack, KHS offers the drinks industry one of the safest and most easily handled forms of secondary packaging, but also more sustainable both from the point of view of the use of resources and climate neutrality.
