Safety from many points of view
Prl Tecnosoft designs conveyor belts and handling systems for the food industry, focusing on the product and the operator.
Prl Tecnosoft’s consultative approach allows the final customer to obtain a special plant or solution which combines performance and safety. The company offers assistance, information and professionalism right from the initial commercial contacts, in fact, with the objective of guaranteeing maximum customer satisfaction.
Transportation systems take centre stage
Continuous technological innovation has enabled the development of ever-faster and better-performing process and packaging machines. To maintain high standards throughout the entire production line, however, it’s important to pay attention to the role played by the transport system that connects the different machines or crosses the various production phases. Two factors are essential in addition to the performance that the packaging line has to guarantee: food safety and the safety of operators.
Safe food products. Food safety - guaranteeing the health of the final consumer - involves the materials in close contact with the foods, currently regulated by the MOCA legislation. It is an aspect which requires ad hoc construction techniques for machines and conveyor belts, which must be easily washable and sanitisable. In particular, use is made of “washdown” conveyor belts, washed with water, and “easy-to-clean” conveyor belts in the event more frequent and programmed cleaning procedures are required. With regards to situations with a high risk of bacteria formation, as in the case of fresh products, the solution is “hygienic design”, in which the surfaces are designed without horizontal or concave parts, thereby avoiding the collection of washing liquids.
Working in safety. At the same time as prioritising food safety, it’s also essential not to forget the safety of operators, who PRL Tecnosoft considers in every phase of its design process, integrating into the design process a preliminary study phase specially linked to the role played by the operator and their need for safety in the operating phases in close contact with the machines.
