Capsules and compresses in blisters

At the forthcoming edition of Achema, the IMA Group will exhibit, in a stand of more than 1,100 square meters (Hall 3 Stand F49), many new incoming solutions for the processing and packaging of pharmaceutical products.

The high precision technology of IMA’s machines and complete lines will also be revealed in the tiniest detail through cutting-edge solutions such as jumbo screen videowalls. Besides the novelties presented by IMA Active and IMA Life divisions, a few blister solutions for pharmaceuticals by IMA Safe will also be presented, at any level of protection and made completely in house.
These include:               
- Giant, machine for packaging capsules and compresses in blisters, preview at Achema 2015 of the new “Containment Version”.

- Swiftpack SP2-4, multichannel electronic counter for tablets and capsules, designed with the experience gained after supplying more than 100 SwiftPharms throughout the world. Along with a smaller footprint and increased output, this new counter has an integrated conveyor controlled from a single HMI.
Quick changeover components and the tabletop design, further improve the machine’s ease of cleanability. The machine on show at Achema will also be equipped with the advanced counting technology E.F.S. (Foto 1)

- C80HS-A76 (700 blister/minute e 250 astucci/minute), the last model of the integrated blister line designed especially for the production of medium batches and frequent size changeovers.
Based on the success of the well-known blister lines manufactured by IMA Safe, the C80HS has the flexibility to be connected also with the A86 cartoner able to reach 350 cartons/minute and the A96 cartoner able to run up to 500 cartons/minute. C80HS features a positive blister transport and an innovative blister cutting system. (Foto 2) 

Double digit growth for IMA
In late April the IMA Group’s shareholders approved the consolidated balance of 31 December 2014 and decided on a dividend of 1.35 euro per share, an increase over the previous year (1.25 euro). «The IMA Group ends another fiscal year with positive results in all business areas, strengthening its market leadership position in the pharmaceutical and food sectors.
The good performance of the group’s orders portfolio and the positive growth trend of the first quarter of 2015, with more orders than the same previous period, makes it easy to look confidently to 2015». This comment by Alberto Vacchi, president and managing director of of the Emilia-based company, a leading global producer of automatic machinery. Here are the main figures: net earnings of 854.6 million euro (+12.3%); export share of 91%, with excellent performance in Asia, the Middle East and Europe; EBITDA of 130.3 million (+16.3%); EBIT of 107.9 million (+24.6%); profit for the year of 56.7 million (+3.5%); Group profit – the only value that shrank – of 51.6 million, compared to 51.5 in 2013.
At the end of 2014 the consolidated orders portfolio reached 525.9 million euro, showing a growth of 15.3%, while the group’s debt went down to 118.4 million euro (from 130.4 million on 31 December 2013).
