The simplicity of pneumatics combined with the advantages of electric automation

Festo, the independent family-run company based in Esslingen, Germany, contributes to industrial development with pneumatic and electric automation solutions, supplying over 300,000 customers in over 40 industrial sectors.

In the last edition of SPS, the company presented its evolutions in the sphere of electric automation, including motors, drives and the new CPX-AP platform, also taking all the new developments relating to pneumatics:

«I would point out, in particular, the VTUX valve unit that establishes new standards in terms of materials, modularity and communication» explains Marco Orlandi, Festo Technology Solution Sales Manager. «VTUX is oriented towards machine architecture control and can easily adapt thanks to the availability of different interfaces, including multipolar, IO-Link, Fieldbus connection or integrable in AP-A/I».

New motors of a bigger size were also on show, while solutions relating to safety, sustainability and Industry 5.0 were on display in dedicated corners, besides a vast offer of professional training programmes (Festo CTE).

«In this moment our priority is to strengthen the entire range of electric automation solutions, combining them with the simplicity of pneumatics. We are committed to perfecting technologies and designs, to accompany the customer in the transition towards the digital factory» Orlandi continues. «We are, in fact, determined to develop increasingly intelligent, intuitive and integrable solutions, in order to anticipate the future challenges of the market».

Festo’s solutions are directed at numerous industrial sectors, of which the packaging sector is the most important, followed by the light assembly and automotive sectors.
