Follow the white, preferably brilliant
Shine and whiteness are indisputable strengths of high end packaging; in this regard, Metsä Board proposes two liners that can make a difference on the shelf: Carta Selecta and Modo Northern Light.
Carta Selecta is a liner coated on both sides, in addition to a range which is already full of products with a high degree of gloss that also enhances UV printing.
The liner is suitable for multi-color offset printing, lamination and UV coating, while the high luster provides depth and density to the colors, achieving excellent separation. Faithful reproduction of halftones and color, but also the perfect shape retention folds and scuff resistance makes Carta Selecta the ideal support to produce high-quality packaging and displays.
Modo Northern Light (latest addition to the Metsä Board uncoated liner range, a completely white single cast paper) opens up new possibilities in the production of microfluting (suitable both as a cover as well as inside and for the production of the corrugate). It provides a reliable and accurate fluting, sturdy even in the lower basis weights, with highest purity virgin fibers (suitable for producing food contact packaging). Characterized by a high grade of white, it is recommended for producing packaging for perfumes and hygiene and beauty products. It also does not fade during corrugating and ensures excellent results when printing multi-color on full or screened bases. With an excellent tensile, elastic and compression strength, it is suitable for on-line or off-line flexo post-print processes, and id also suitable for offset printing.
Sustainability policies Like all Metsä Board liners, Carta Selecta and Modo Northern Light are made with virgin fibres from sustainably managed nordic forests. The fibres are of known origin and all the raw materials used in production are of traceable origin. The two liners (respectively produced in Kyro in Finland and Husum in Sweden) are PEFC and FSC certified and have achieved full environmental and quality certification. In particular a note that the Kyro production site is powered by biomass energy generated from wood waste, resulting in reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.
