Microline supplies two more end-of-line machines to Paperdì
Microline, a Bologna-based company specialising in the production of automatic end-of-line packaging machines, is continuing its successful partnership with Paperdì, a leading player in the Tissue sector since 1989.
The collaboration between the two companies began in 2018 when Microline supplied a side-loading case packer that was fitted to an interfolded towel and toilet paper line, and this has now been followed up by the installation of two more high-performance plants, one for the production of hospital paper rolls and the other installed downstream of a state-of-the-art interfolded towel and toilet paper line..
Following the completion of testing a few months ago to mutual satisfaction, Paperdì now has three fully functional hi-tech plants that comply with Industry 4.0 principles and are fully automated and connected to the rest of the plant.
The concept that sets Microline products apart is modularity. The machines consist of a basic model that can be customised simply by adding dedicated modules or options. The challenge was to make the machines not just highly performing and efficient but also flexible and versatile. The unit dedicated to the secondary packaging of hospital paper rolls can work with three different formats. The same applies to the interfolded product packaging machines, which can handle interfolded towels and toilet paper.
All of this is achieved without sacrificing performance. The hospital paper roll case packer can handle up to 70 products per minute, while the units for interfolded products can handle up to 120 packs of interfolded toilet paper per minute or 80 packs of interfolded towels per minute.
Paperdì operates a paper mill in Pietramelara and a paper converting plant with ten production lines in San Nicola la Strada, both in the province of Caserta. A well-known player in Italy and abroad, its key strengths include its extensive product portfolio and ongoing research into new product development.
