The Perfume Factory

A live demonstration of the magic of perfume and its production.

Presented as a journey along the production process of a fragrance, the Perfume Factory will accompany visitors through each phase of a perfume’s creation: from the olfactory to maceration, to filtering and filling, packaging and wrapping.
For the project a space will be set up at Cosmoprime (Pavilion 19), where a limited edition fragrance will be produced. The classic cologne is gender-free, citrusy, fruity and woody.

For the 50th edition of Cosmoprof World Bologna, the organizers were passionate about showcasing the beauty world’s most archetypal, magical and evocative product.
Following through on the precedents set at previous editions of the Factory, the entire production process will be set up at the fair, with the crucial assistance of some exhibiting concerns.

But let’s take things one at a time and look at each step of the process that visitors will be able to watch live in March. Perfume is first and foremost the magic of raw materials, like those which Luca Maffei, AFM’s young perfumer, masterfully blended to create this original product, with the help of Accademia del Profumo’s affiliate perfume producers.

The next magic moment comes when the fluids take form in the container: the exclusive bottle by Bormioli Luigi is not only transparent but made unique by a patented inside treatment process.
The bottle’s originality requires a cap able to tie it all together, and this is why Candiani, with its classic artisan and meticulous approach, will create a cap that celebrates the union of bottle and fragrance. But the “hidden” magic lies in the Aptar dispenser system.
A fragrance to intoxicate the senses also requires safe keeping, so who better than Pusterla 1880 and Industrial Box to create an appealing protective case?

However, none of it would be possible without technology, namely the packaging machinery that makes Cosmoprof the world’s only fair able to realize the dream of perfume. ICR, Ima Group and Coven Egidio, with their characteristic international experience and competence, will be tasked with making all steps in production both viable and visible. Certiquality will certify the process’s carbon footprint.
