Precise recognition of very small objects

Tags

Leuze sets new standards when it comes to speed, precision and technical highlights. Its increasingly sophisticated sensors are capable of identifying objects as small as 0.05 mm in diameter.

The new Leuze range of fork sensors (GS 04B and GS 08B series) detect even the smallest objects (diameter as small as 0.05 millimetres) quickly, precisely and independently of the surface structure of the object.

With their high switching frequencies (up to 10,000 Hz) and short reaction times, they can be integrated seamlessly into high-speed automation processes.

The GS 04B series sensors are available in 14 different fork widths ranging from 5 mm to 220 mm, while the GS(L) 08B series comes in four widths (30 to 120 mm). This flexibility makes them ideal for use in a wide range of sectors, from packaging to assembly and handling technologies.

The compact design of the new sensors makes them ideally suited for installation in constrained spaces. Fork sensors combine a transmitter and receiver in a single device, thereby enabling easy mounting without alignment as well as offering high operational safety. The GS 04B series with red light LED are also available with extra-wide 170 or 220 mm forks for the detection of larger components.

Leuze sensors can be configured either via IO-Link or manually via a potentiometer and offer highly efficient sensitivity adjustment and light/dark switching.

The GS(L) 08B series has a robust, ECOLAB-certified V4A cleanroom-compatible stainless steel housing that is ideal for companies with strict hygiene requirements (protection rating IP67).
