Ball Corporation opens plant in the Czech Republic
Ball Corporation plans to commence construction of a large new €170 million aluminium can production facility in the Czech Republic in the spring of 2021.
Located in Pilsen Digital Park, the new plant will meet the country’s growing demand for aluminium cans for beverage. It will begin operation in October 2022 and will employ up to 200 people.
The new factory will have two production lines and will occupy a site of more than 100,000 square metres, allowing for further expansion when required. “We plan to install sophisticated automated equipment at the facility, leveraging the latest modern technologies to minimize environmental impacts, and strengthened by our recent commitment to 100% renewable energy to cover our operations in Europe,” said Gerhard Mayer, Vice President Operations, Ball Beverage Packaging EMEA.
The project is part of a broader strategy for increased investment in the wider EMEA region.
