Beer: Carlsberg and Tuborg donate to coronavirus research

The Carlsberg, New Carlsberg and Tuborg Foundations have decided to donate around €13 million to research into Covid-19 as well as social initiatives.

Of this, €8 million will be allocated to three projects focusing on methods of virus diagnosis, treatment and prevention; the use of big data analysis to understand the impact of our behaviour on the spread of the virus; and analysis models explore how and why a virus can turn into a global epidemic.

The studies will be conducted by internationally renowned researchers working at the Universities of Copenhagen, Aarhus and Roskilde, the Serum Institute and the Danish Polytechnic.

The remaining €5 million will be donated to Danish museums and to people affected by Covid-19.
