Campari strengthens its rum business
Campari is continuing its efforts to strengthen its rum business, a category that is at the heart of the new mixology trend.
The company has finalised its acquisition of the French firm Rhumantilles SAS, owner of 96.5% of the Martinique-based company Bellonnie & Bourdillon Successeurs renowned for its brands Trois Rivières, La Mauny and Duquesne.
The €60 million deal will be completed in Q4 2019.
The operation follows the Garavoglia family-controlled group’s 2012 acquisition of Jamaican rum maker Lascelles de Mercado, the owner of some of the world’s most prestigious rum brands (Appleton, Wray & Nephew and Coruba), for €300 million.
