Liwayway Food to open factory in Tashkent

The Philippine company Liwayway Food, which produces snacks under the Oishi brand, has begun work on a new factory in the Qibray district of Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The $10 million investment will enable the company to produce 1,000 tons of snacks per year at the site with an estimated export volume of $1 million.

The facility, which stands on a 1.3 hectare site, is expected to be ready at the beginning of September and will employ around 300 people.

The project is a joint venture between Liwayway Ltd and Nilem Proekt Stroy LLC.
