PepsiCo invests in savoury snacks in Pakistan
PepsiCo has announced that it will build a new savoury snack manufacturing facility in the city of Multan in central Pakistan.
Standing on an 80,000 sqm site, the new factory will involve an investment of €66 million and will create more than 1,500 direct and indirect jobs.
The work is expected to be concluded within the first few months of 2020. The savoury snacks sector in Pakistan generated revenues of $512 million in 2017 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.34% to reach $874.53 million by 2023.
PepsiCo has had operations in Pakistan for more than half a century and has invested more than $800 million over the last five years.
According to official statements from top management, the group is planning to invest a further $1 billion over the next five years.
