Respect for men and environment in the new ILAPAK Italia plant
«Innovation in manufacturing processes and products is going hand-in-hand with sustainability and respect for the environment in which we live and work» as Alberto Vacchi, IMA's Chairman and CEO, underlined in his talk while inaugurating the ILAPAK Italia works at Foiano della Chiana (AR) on 24 October last.
With the inauguration of its new 6 thousand square metres plant in Foiano della Chiana, Arezzo, ILAPAK Italia (an IMA Group company) continues to grow in the name of sustainability: new 6 thousand square metres plant focused on the production of vertical packaging machines for primary packaging in the food sector with use of flexible material.
The plant now. The new ILAPAK Italia's plant employs about 100 people and has been designed to respect the environment that surrounds it: thanks to specific plant installations, the building is in fact able to ensure reduced energy consumption, healthy environments and maximum attention to the safety and well-being of employees.
From photovoltaic panels to domotics with weather station, from the use of low energy consumption lights to twilight outdoor lighting, everything is designed to ensure efficiency and comfort.
Hence, sustainability to the fore in the development of the industrial project of a company that, in addition to being "plastics-free" and traditionally attentive to the reduction of consumption, is constantly committed to the search for packaging products and solutions in line with emerging environmental issues.
This is proven by the tests underway on recyclable films (paper) and biodegradable ones (eco-compatible films are also expected in the future), as well as machine designs with energy-saving electronics, in order to produce solutions for sustainable packaging, in view of a strategy that combines corporate and sustainability objectives.
Sustainability ideas (and practices). Attending the inauguration ceremony of the plant, Alberto Vacchi declared: «We are delighted to inaugurate ILAPAK Italia’s new plant, which is part of the Group's philosophy focused on sustainability, as a shared and essential value to face global challenges. Innovation in manufacturing processes and products is going hand-in-hand with sustainability and respect for the environment in which we live and work.
In particular, in the coming months, we will focus on IMA NOP (No Plastic), a project at the service of packaging that uses new environmentally-friendly materials. The Group has already developed some extremely innovative solutions in collaboration with the major market players, thereby anticipating the needs of the market in question. This project demonstrates IMA's environmental sensitivity and the strong commitment to innovation that has always distinguished the Group».
In addition to his pride for a new location, key feature the respect of environmental sustainability, and the gratitude for the faith given by the IMA top management, Fabio Agnoletti, Site Manager of ILAPAK Italia, commented: «this new head office, built in compliance with environmental sustainability represents a turning point for us towards new goals. For our part we will strive to continue pursuing the Group's objectives and principles in Val di Chiana. Only a company that is sensitive to the future of the environment will be able to design automatic machines for eco-sustainable packaging».
The ILAPAK Group, which has other plants in Italy (Bologna), Switzerland, Germany, the United States and China, was acquired by IMA in 2013 and has seen its turnover rise in the last few years. |
