Rimini-based show Sigep expands into international markets in partnership with Anuga
A new strategic agreement between Italian Exhibition Group and Koelnmesse will promote Sigep at the Anuga foodshows worldwide.
Sigep - The Dolce World Expo, the international exhibition of Italian artisanal ice cream, pastry and bakery, chocolate and coffee sectors promoted by IEG - Italian Exhibition Group, is preparing to expand abroad.
After signing a memorandum of understanding with the German exhibition management company Koelnmesse, the Rimini-based event will be co-participating in the overseas editions of the world’s largest food industry show Anuga as part of a more extensive project to explore potentially profitable new markets for both events.
“Following on from green technologies and the wellness sector, we are now set for the international launch of Italy’s leading dessert foodservice show using the leverage provided by Anuga’s position as a major global food event,” said Corrado Peraboni, CEO of IEG. “This strategy marks a response to changes in international travel and offers a foretaste of the trends that will shape the trade fair business over coming years.”
IEG is no stranger to partnerships and joint ventures with global organisers and has pursued overseas operations in the United States, United Arab Emirates, China, Mexico and India while establishing itself as one of the leading European players in the sector.
Gerald Böse, Chairman and CEO of Koelnmesse, also expressed his approval of the agreement:
“Our strong connection with Italy is one of the most important assets for our food and food technology exhibitions worldwide. Together with IEG we will be able to achieve further development and open up new markets within the global Anuga network.”
