Compact Reader of Complex Barcodes

From Cognex Corporation (machine vision systems and products) comes DataMan^®280, the new fixed-mount barcode reader series. Fast decoding, simple configuration and 4.0 capabilities are concentrated in a product line designed to solve a wide range of ID applications, including complex 1D, 2D and direct part mark (DPM) code applications.

The modularity of hardware and software makes the DataMan^®280 suitable for a variety of industrial environments, from tracking small DPM codes on medical devices to reading label-based 1D and 2D codes on reflective film-covered pallets.

The series leverages a high-resolution sensor that, combined with dynamic image formation, improves code handling and coverage, enabling reliable reading even of complex codes. In addition, combined with Cognex Edge Intelligence (EI), the DataMan^®280 offers advanced Industry 4.0 features: easy web browser connectivity, efficient device management (which can be configured at once) and system performance metrics.

Compact in size, the DataMan^®280 can be configured straight or at right angles for tight spaces, while multiple readers can be deployed simultaneously for applications with a larger field of view and high-speed multi-sided scanning.
