Double certification for Crocco film
The Vicenza company receives a second Plastic Second Life (PSL) certification for its polyethylene film for industrial packaging
Crocco intensifies its efforts on recycling, confirming its commitment to the environmental cause. The Venice-based flexible packaging producer has obtained double Plastic Second Life (PSL) certification for its polyethylene film for industrial packaging (the first was in 2020). The conformity certification relates to shrinkwrap film (used, for example for packaging bottles) made with a minimum 30% quantity of a mix of recycled materials obtained from separate waste collection and/or industrial waste.
Plastic Second Life packaging guarantees compliance with the requirements of the Institute for the Promotion of Recycled Plastics and the use of recycled material with relative traceability. Everything is certified by a third-party body, SGS Italia, which provides for continuous surveillance on the correctness of the process. Nevertheless,
“It is not sufficient to be technologically able to use recycled plastic material”, affirms Renato Zelcher, CEO of Crocco. “An all-round approach is necessary in order to be truly effective in the reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, like we have adopted in the polyethylene and bioplastic packaging sustainability project called Greenside. It’s a collaborative Eco design process, – continues the CEO – thanks to which we are able to supply a packaging with maximum limitation of environmental impact, arriving even at zero impact from the point of view of CO2 emissions".
