Coding and marking at the service of pharma
Synonymous with the design and production of printers for the labelling, marking and automatic coding of industrial products, EIDOS has been applying its proprietary technology for the real-time digital thermal transfer printing of variable data for 50 years.
Right from the outset, in 1973, Eidos revolutionised industrial manufacturing with its famous “electronic piece-counter”. Since then, the company has developed various printer families, including Coditherm, Printess and XTO, becoming a point of reference in the field of industrial identification and printing. With its entry into the Possehl Group, Eidos has consolidated its tradition of commitment to innovation, arriving at occupying a leading position within the Group, particularly for the development of 3D printing and new products.
A constantly evolving range.
The research and development of high-efficiency solutions and applications, many of which are protected by international patents, has allowed Eidos to build up a complete offer, ideal for the pharmaceutical market. The selection includes:
- XTO, ideal for direct printing on all types of flexible packaging film, it guarantees extraordinary operativity and high-precision results at high speeds. This printer offers maximum operativity thanks to the modular design and the plug & play belt change function, with optimised performance also in terms of connectivity and IoT;
- Printess is a Print&Apply system, which makes it possible to print and apply labels in an automatic, fast and reliable way on fixed or moving objects. It integrates perfectly into industrial environments thanks to its robustness and to the various special applicators that adapt to multiple situations. Capable of a printing speed of up to 500 mm/s with a resolution of 300 dpi, it’s characterised for its modularity and integrability, making it compatible with various packaging lines for greater operational flexibility;
- Coditherm is appreciated for its ability to print directly on solid materials, using the thermal transfer technology patented by Eidos. It enables a wide range of industrial and pharmaceutical applications such as variable data printing on plasma/blood bags, syringes, graduated vials and others. This all makes Coditherm a technological cornerstone of the company’s offer.
Eidos: a history as protagonist
Eidos srl was founded in 1974, the brainchild of Giovanni and Franco Tabasso, a small business housed in an old apartment in Chieri, in the province of Turin. After starting out in electronic weighing, the Tabasso brothers transformed a start-up into a technological innovation leader. The company has undergone constant growth over the years, moving into a larger site in Chieri in 1984. In 2017, with the transfer of ownership to the German company NOVEXX Gmbh (part of the Possehl Identification Solutions Group), Eidos further consolidated its presence on the market, continuing to increase its offer of innovative products.
After five decades, Eidos remains, therefore, a symbol of industrial and creative excellence, ready to face future challenges with the same energy and passion as its founders, maintaining its commitment to research&development.
