Retaining its compact design, the lightweight collaborative robot now offers a 2kg payload, faster cycle times, and broader use cases. Now available across Europe.
JAKA Robotics, a leading manufacturer of collaborative robots has announced the European launch of its Mini 2, the latest evolution of its ultra-compact robot series. With double the payload (2kg) and four times the acceleration of JAKA MiniCobo (400°/s² vs. 100°/s²), Mini 2 completes tasks faster, reducing cycle times and increasing productivity across a broader range of applications, from inspection and 3D vision operations to light machine tending.
The Mini 2 maintains the hallmark features of its predecessor – small footprint, intuitive setup, and a highly competitive price point – while meeting growing market demands for greater performance in confined spaces.
Expanding application possibilities
Mini 2 is tailored for industries where space, speed, and safety are key – including food and beverage, pharmaceutical production, laboratory environments, and automated inspection systems. The added payload enables both the use of heavier tools, such as 3D vision systems for inspection, and the high-speed handling of heavier parts. The robot shares its programming interface and core software with the rest of JAKA’s cobot family – from 1kg to 30kg payload systems – enabling a unified experience across all automation setups.
Safety and performance confirmed by clients
While the increased payload and speed require higher attention to risk assessment and safety compliance, Mini 2 remains highly effective in enclosed or controlled environments, such as laboratory cells, packaging lines, or automated test systems. Prior to the European rollout, the robot was piloted with selected customers in Italy, whose early feedback confirmed both performance and flexibility
