Control Techniques: new location for a new story
Assago, March 14, 2019. The new Italian headquarters of Control Techniques (a Nidec Corporation company), a world-class specialist in the design and production of variable speed drives for the control of electric motors, was officially inaugurated.
The ribbon was cut by President Anthony Pickering and the head of the Italian Drive Center Carlo Previderè who, during a brief and cordial opening ceremony, told the guests about the reasons and the prospects for the transfer.
First and foremost, the choice of the municipality of Assago, on the western outskirts of Milan, dictated by the desire to place itself within a territory with a marked industrial connotation. The renovation, carried out in record time (less than six months from July 2018 to January 2019), means the approximately 2,000 square meters will house offices, warehouse, service workshop and test room, all strictly on one floor, modern, welcoming and bright, with plate glass windows, common areas and open spaces, to facilitate and promote communication and collaboration between the staff of the various departments, reinforcing the sense of a unified and homogeneous corporate identity. «A sunny and welcoming location - underlined Previderè - where we will be able to intensify the activities supporting the growth program that the Control Techniques Group has planned, focusing on what we know best: drives».
A new course that does not forget the past. Proud to be the spokesperson for a nearly fifty-year company history on such an important occasion for relaunching on the Italian market, President Pickering recalled how strengthening brand recognition was among the strategic objectives of Control Techniques: in fact the iconic green color is re-proposed as well as the historical names of the leading products that distinguish the brand, namely Commander motor controls and Digitax servo drives.
Control Techniques, a company of the Nidec group, is a world leader in the design and production of variable speed electronic drives for the control of electric motors. Founded in 1973, the company is headquartered in Newton (Wales) with dedicated global production and R&D sites, as well as specialized Drive Centers in 45 locations worldwide. |
A further boost to research and development activities - the Chairman recalled - has come with the decisive acquisition by Nidec, which led to the marking of some technological milestones, such as the launch in 2018 of the Unidrive M750 servo drive range, destined to rewrite market standards in terms of performance, flexibility and compactness. The next appointment with the Italian market will be at SPS IPC Drives Italia, Parma, where the sixth generation of Commander engine controls will be presented, developed in just 26 months.
