Cuki: committed to the environment
A truly circular economy depends on an industrial system that is able to develop products and services designed to encourage consumption habits oriented toward reuse and recycling
At Marca 2018, Cuki presented its new “Committed to the environment” line, with three specific applications developed in the spirit of a Made in Italy circular economy: Cuki freezer bags in MATER-BI, Cuki 100% recycled aluminium, and Cuki natural baking paper.
The foundation of these green solutions is an unwavering commitment to safeguarding the environment.
They use 100% recycled and recyclable paperboard packaging that is printed with water-based inks.
Focus on the products
• Cuki freezer bags in MATER-BI are the only completely biodegradable and compostable bags for storing food in the freezer, developed in exclusive partnership with with Novamont. With excellent food preservation performance, the bag can be disposed of along with other compostable organic waste.
• Cuki 100% recycled aluminium (20 m) is produced from scraps left over from Cuki’s production lines, saving 95% of the energy needed to produce aluminium as a raw material. The resulting product is completely recyclable, just like Cuki aluminium from raw material, and it works great for wrapping foods, maintaining resistance and protection characteristics.
• Cuki natural baking paper (20 sheet - 33 x 38 cm). Completely biodegradable and compostable, this paper is untreated and has a rough brownish color. FSC-certified, it is produced from cellulose fiber obtained from sustainably managed forests. Non-stick and resistant to temperatures up to 220 °C, it is suitable for use with ovens, frying pans, bain-maries and microwaves. The absence of a metallic sawtooth edge means the entire packaging can be disposed of in the paper recycling.
