CPR System: positive balance sheet

The CPR System Cooperative (based in Gallo, FE) is an industry organization that produces, handles and recycles plastic packaging (collapsible green plastic crates widely used in retail) and europallets.

It unites 1042 fresh fruit and vegetable concerns, among which the major Italian retail chains, producers and packagers. In 2013 it generated a turnover of 46.7 million euro, in line with the previous year (46.1 million euro in 2012). The operating result sees a profit of 1,250,000 euro, after distributing 3,415,000 euro to its members (an excellent result, considering the competitive rates applied by CPR). The organization’s net worth reaches 32.8 million euro. In the face of a slight decline in the handling of crates (from 116 to 113 million), mini-bin handling has grown (from 490,000 to 501,000), as well as that of pallets (4.3 to 5.5 million).
