Antonio Feola is the president of Istituto Italiano Imballaggio
Communication and sharing: these are the ideals on which Antonio Feola, newly elected president of Istituto Italiano Imballaggio for 2014-2016, intends to operate, marking his presidency’s continuity with that of his predecessor Angelo Gerosa.
Elected in Venice last May 28th, on the occasion of the organization’s annual assembly, Antonio Feola garnered the favor of Istituto Italiano Imballaggio’s committee as well as the gathered representatives of its member concerns. Feola’s election is in line with the universally welcomed strategy of alternating a president representing the world of production with one representing that of users. Feola represents the latter, having graduated class of 1966 with a degree in agriculture and a master’s in marketing, since 2000 he has worked for A.I.D.E.P.I. (Association for the Italian Confectionery and Pasta Industries), where he was in charge of environment and sustainability.
The main strategy of the newly elected Feola involves a strong focus on institutional communication, as he declared immediately following his election: «We will work to place at the center of the Istituto’s activity correct information for the public opinion on packaging, valorizing its function, utility, information and safety service content, highlighting our initiatives and investments for the sustainability of the entire industry, in order to understand the role of packaging in limiting food waste, one of the main themes of Expo 2015.
As far as concerns continuity with his predecessor, Angelo Gerosa, not only does the new president share his attention to the topic of correct information on packaging, but he intends to further valorize the current activities of the Istituto, according to certain important guiding principles: re-thinking university education on packaging, supporting the valid activities of various commissions, and follow up on the experience of the “Roundtable of Associations”.
