Sustainability Report 2015
Focused on “do more with less”, the eco-efficiency policy adopted by Sun Chemical (DIC Group) highlights the proactive role taken by the ink manufacturer in reducing the carbon footprint of the activities along the entire supply chain.
Recently published, the Sun Chemical 2015 Sustainability Report contains specific examples of eco-efficiency, also rating the performance of raw materials and service suppliers (including distribution, internal logistics and transport) on the basis of rigorous scientific criteria.
This is the case with its publishing inks (that comprise bio-derived rosin from coniferous trees), or carbon black suppliers (whose energy efficiency has remained positive due to the generation of surplus energy). In terms of transport, the Sun Chemical European Ink Division has reduced the emissions of its vehicle fleet and, from a logistical point of view, the distribution of goods is shifting from road to intermodal transport.
