Macfrut 2016

Focus on packaging at Macfrut (organized by Cesena Fiera in the Rimini exhibition center), the important European event dedicated to fresh produced packaging and processing technologies: a leadership gained in years and determined by the presence in Emilia Romagna of world-calibre  companies.
The packaging of fresh produce is a huge business if one considers both a global fruit&vegetable production that exceeds 2.5 billion tons as well as the different forms of packaging used depending on the type of handling (collection, storage, transport to distribution channels, the consumers’ dinner tables). The fresh produce packaging offer is hence highly complex and strongly differentiated according to the intended use of the products. The keywords today, obviously the leitmotif of Macfrut 2016, functionality, sustainability and design, in order to offer increasingly sophisticated products, this also in terms of health and well-being.
