Dow and Nordmeccanica accelerate in flexible packaging
In order to drive new innovation and consolidate their global flexible packaging market presence, Dow Chemical and Nordmeccanica Spa (manufacturer of machines for coating, lamination and metalization) have signed an agreement representing the evolution of work the two concerns have carried out together over the past two years.
At the foundation is a shared conviction that offering advanced adhesive/machine solutions for the flexible packaging industry has enormous commercial growth potential.
Specifically, the two concerns announced exciting developments for collaboration between specialists from each enterprise at Dow’s research and training center, the Pack Studio in Mozzate (VA), where Nordmeccanica has set up a Super Combi 3000 lamination line. This state of the art installation will enable customers from around the world to carry out testing, try out prototypes relying on the assistance of experts from the two companies, fostering an exchange of skills and experience.
In addition to supplying the market with a highly advanced service, the Mozzate lab has thus become a research center in which the experience and ideas of various flexible packaging operators converge, offering the researchers valuable inspiration. At Drupa 2016, a technology and commercial partnership will be presented between the two industrial realities.
