Procter & Gamble continues tissue paper production at full capacity

While ordering all non-essential businesses to close down, Pennsylvania governor Tom Wolf has cleared Procter & Gamble to continue producing tissue paper products 24-7.

The facility located in Mehoopany produces Charmin toilet paper, Bounty paper towels and Pampers and Luvs diapers and has around 2,200 employees.

California has given the company similar approval to continue production at another plant in the Golden State.

Demand for tissue paper products has been so intense that P&G has started up previously idled factory equipment in Georgia in a record two weeks, a process that normally would take months. P&G also operates production plants in Box Elder, Utah; Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and Green Bay, Wisconsin.
