Unigrà focuses on strategic acquisitions and new openings abroad

Unigrà, an agri-food group based in the province of Ravenna that specialises in the transformation and sale of vegetable oils and fats, is expanding in Italy through the acquisition of the entire share capital of Olfood (BS), a producer of margarines and food oils for professional use (annual revenue €40 million, including 10% from exports).

The agreement will create significant strategic and positioning synergies in the supply of value-added ingredients for the food industry and products for the artisanal pastry and bakery channel.

At the same time the group is continuing its overseas growth. With a total investment of €70 million, by the end of the year Unigrà will complete construction of two new production facilities in Malaysia and Brazil with the aim of establishing a presence in South America and the Far East.

Globally the group has 750 employees and revenues of around €650 million. It generates 40% of its business from exports through 16 foreign subsidiaries, 2 branches and an extensive network of distributors and importers in more than 100 countries worldwide. It has three historic brands devoted to its core business (Master Martini, GLF and Martini Linea Gelato), along with OraSì for vegetable drinks and Martini Food Service for professional catering products.
